What the numbers miss

The part that does not fit in a statistic

Around 600 people took part in the Jain Olympics. What the number does not carry is a grandparent and his grandchildren on the same field, or the noise a small town makes when the tug of war goes to a third pull.

Every child who finished Umang was handed a certificate in front of their family. For a lot of them it was the first document with their own name printed on it.

Every one of these can be bigger

More participants, better equipment, longer camps, larger prize pools. The limiting factor has never been willingness — it has been funding.
